*There will be a few, but, overall, most reviews cite the source material is honored and upheld.
In the end, I think that's okay, because traditional books and visual media can never really intermesh as fluidly as we like.
RE: the lights in the bunker, maybe they threw them in as they felt they needed to add more light in order to give the audience a break from extended darkness?
The mother has an extended presence in the movie - as long as it respects the material, im happy. :)
*No, read the book, then watch the movie - in the end, they are two seperate and distinct media formats that cannot correlate with each other preceisely. The book will set the scene for the movie, and the movies' director does his best to honor the book in a format that best suits the visual storytelling narrative.
*OMFG you're right!
*No, watch the movie, THEN read the book.
If you read the book first, it's more likely that you'll be disappointed (even if only slightly) by the movie. However, if you watch the movie then read the book, it'll be like getting the movie with all the deleted scenes and dropped out material.
*Read the book, then watch the movie!..
*I loved the book, very curious to see how they treated it for the film. The trailer looks predictably Hollywood with the usual pompous blah-blah ("between father and son - IMAGE - lies the courage - IMAGE - to never surrender"). I just hope they don't explain too much, as the lack of information and backstory were what gave the book its eerie atmosphere. We'll see.
*The second half music was atrocious.
*THIS MOVIE LOOKS SO AWESOME!!!!!
*i cant believe the author approved of this
*Yeah, I think the music for the second half was a little inappropriate.
*(Geek alert) 1:30, in the basement, the book makes no mention of lights on the walls, they had to use oil lamps, but here you can see that there is wall lights. wonder how many other changes there are in this movie compared to the brilliant book.
*first half of the trailer was fantastic... why'd they have to fuck it up with cliches at the end?
still, looks great!
*what makes it different?
*its so different from all the other "end of the world" movies. the book is amazing.
*no its not, i read the book and it was great
*is this another one of those movies where no one lives?! if so im not seeing it...
but it looks good.
*Yah of course it looks like a good movie, but since i read the book i feel like i will explode if i don't see it i am so stoked to see it.

*Looks like a good movie. :) Plus there is Viggo Mortensen
*"...maybe you shouldn't go around judging people by what they write." Are you kidding? Didn't you call the Road "suckish." Last time I checked, The Road was a written novel. You're not too bright, good sir -- that much is obvious from the lack of thought that goes into your comments. It's not a mystery as to why you would hate The Road. Your own writing... in these comments (grammar and style) suggests you are intellectually operating on a fifth-grade level. You're pretty sad, dude.
*this trailer means so much more now i have read the book, everything is exactly as the book says woooot
*dude its w/e i honestly dont care
its your opinion
as it was mine i had to read the book for school and it sucked to me and if others think different i dont chastize them for it
b/c its just a book no point in arguing for it
*Random, by the look of the number of thumb downs on your post, I'm not the only one who isn't impressed with your comments. I apologize for my earlier comments.
*cool i guess
