*my mom threw my dogs out max a pure great dane and bruno a bridle pitbull!..because they were sick and had shit in the house..she opened the door and just let them run! but they are trained off leash so they stayed in front of the house..so she took them to the park and let them loose i wanted to kill myself but instead i moved out..i was only 17at the time!..and they were MY dogs slet in my room and everything!..i still will never forget that!
EVER!
*Has anyone seen all the ads of people wanting to abandon their dogs on Craigs List lately because they do not have the time to spend with the dog that they adopted or worse yet bought from a puppy store. It has me wondering if they have no time for the dog how much time do they have for their children and how long is it before that want to abandon their children also. I guess people think that pets are disposable. People need to not adopt pets if they can't keep them for life.
*are you kidding with this comment?? they're not smart for getting rid of their dogs. smart would have been to know themselves and their limitations and not get one in the first place. do u know how many animals are euthanized every day in shelters because of stupid reasons like these and there is no other place for them to go. Its senseless, heartless, irresponsible and has to stop.
*Great video. There are times when a dog has to lose his/her home but none of those excuses given in this video are one of them. Last year we adopted an 11 year old dog from an older man who was no longer able to care for him. Sometimes people go to nursing homes, die, or get serious illnesses, and that's not their fault. People who've lost their jobs & their homes often sadly lose their pets, too. If you or anyone you know is thinking of adopting a pet, adult dogs make super family members.
*I really hate when people give up their animals. I think they are cowards and have no sense of responsibility or morals. I have a dog and he's so energetic, even after his 1-4mi daily walks. He also has had health problems since he was a puppy (he's 4 now) and he costs A LOT of money. He drives me up the wall sometimes, but it was my choice to get him and I take my responsibility to all my animals seriously.
*Thanks for the vid and keep up the good work in putting animal welfare issues in people's faces!
*If ur gonna get a dog make sure u can take care of him or her. I spent a 2 months doing research before I gotta dog and knowing what to expect when u get a dog is half the battle be becuz u can prepare. If ur gone for work and ur too tired to walk or play when u come home a dog is not for u.
*People make too many mistakes with dogs. Especially with puppies. Most dogs just get treated like a fashion accessory and when people see a little puppy they always go,"Omg! That dog is so cute! I want it!" And then give no thought to the consequences. There's more to a dog than its looks. I can go on and on ranting about that, but I must not. I can only fit so much into this comment. Anyways, you must really THINK before getting a dog. "Cuteness" isn't a reason to get one.
*Excellent video. So sad.
But how can we stop it?
A video like this increases awareness
but probably not of the low mentality and integrity of the people who think this way.
*wow all these peeps talking about how sad this video is..it may be but having a dog is no easy task and if a lot of peeps come to the realization and deside they dont want a dog...i just dont see the bad in that. i think there are a lot of peeps that dont have any business owing a dog because they cant take care of them or control them properly. those are the peeps that are smart for getting rid of there dogs.........................
*i wouldnt give up my dog for ANYTHING! nothing!! not for the law or all the money in the world. i love my dog....research care for a dog or ANY pet before u get one...u should have NO excuses then.
*I think this is a very sad but truthful video clip. My dog is going to be spayed asap so that I do not contribute to the problem. Thanks for opening my eyes. Rott breeder that is a former Rott breeder Thank you!
*Every person thinking of owning a pet should be made to watch this and at least have a good idea of what to do in the situations presented. I consider all my pets as family and believe others should as well. You wouldn't throw your kid out if they misbehaved too much for your liking. The same should hold true of your pet/pets. It's sad how many animals are euthanized each year because of irresponsible pet owners. =(
*We agree. We have tried to get them to remove the ads because it is completely contradictory to our rescue's mission. Thanks for the comment!
*That is so sad! The dogs sooo cute I would cry if I had to give up a dog!
*really resent that ads for puppy sales from the kennel are underneath these so sad pix...Laughlin is nothing great and we don't need more puppies..
*I really resent that this video carries ads from Laughlin Kennels for the sale of pups...it just doesn't set well at all...there are so many dogs now we don't need pups for many many years
*i almost cried watching this. They should advertise this on tv. i'm sure it'll touch so many hearts :(
*unfortunately for every one of you there are 10 heartless bastards that do the easy thing and dump them in shelters or abandon them. come up with a solution.
*I would never get rid of my dogs... I would never leave them. If my landlord said I couldnt keep my dog, I would rather live on the streets with the dog.
People need to THINK before they bring a dog into their lives.
*guess what guys wither we all care not to admit we are there voice! we are suppose to take care of them God Almighty left us in charge!
*This would be a great video to show adoptees of the rescue you work for before they adopt a dog. Maybe someone would think twice before adopting. Someone might not actually go through with the adoption but in the end if they did not go through with an adoption the dog is better off because they probably would have given the dog up anyway. People need to research the breed before adopting and make sure it is the right dog for their lifestyle. You don't want an energetic dog if you are lazy.
*It should end with "Please think carefully before you subtract me from your family" Awesome, thought provoking, and so shamefully true. One day America is going to look back in horror at the way we treated our dependents, whether they be helpless children, senior adults, the handicapped, and yes, even the animals that depend on us......
*You know, I'm glad to hear someone say this. My dog has bad allergies so his food costs me a lot, and money was tight for a few months and so I went without. For him. For my baby. Not enough people would be willing to do this, and I'm glad you would. Its nice to hear.
*Unfortunately, all of this is so very true! I am in dog rescue and hear these apologies on a daily basis.
