"The interesting part is that I play complete contrasting roles in the
films. In Fareb, I play a wife's role, and in Dus, I play a role which has me
shooting with guns," says Shilpa.
The stunning actress spoke briefly to our Chief Correspondent, Syed Firdaus
Ashraf, on her films. This is what she had to say:
A lot of people have asked me why my two films are releasing on the same
day, and I tell them that it is up to my producers to decide.
They have to
see a lot of things before the release of a film, and one of the biggest things
is to see the availability of theatres.

I can only say the two films are completely different from each other.
Dus is a very stylised movie. It is a very intriguing film.
I have done
things in Dus that I have never done before.
It was interesting to hold a holster and gun in the film. Even the demeanor
of my character is different, and I have worked very hard.
I hope people will appreciate me in the role.

In Fareb, I play a wife and I suggest that people must go to the theatres
to see who is doing fareb (deception) in the film.
This is for the first
time Shamita (Shetty, her sister) and I have come together. We really waited for
a long time for some script to appeal to both of us, and therefore we were ready
to do this film. The film does justice to both of our characters, and that is
why we did it.
The film is about how extramarital affairs have become a reality in life.
You see, today, however good marriage may be, it breaks up.
You feel life is so unpredictable, and sometimes there is no reason to ruin
a marriage. Your wife may be the best thing on earth, but men still do fareb.
I don't know how to put all these things in words, but deceit is something
people don't want to face up to and nobody likes it.
In personal life, I feel it is very important to be loyal in every
I feel marriage is about mutual understanding and compromises.
One must always be aware of this fact.
Today everyone is independent, and people have become less compromising and
therefore, marriages are breaking up.
Fareb, in that sense, deals with a real-life situation. And that is the
biggest plus point of the film, that people will be able to relate to it.
