Top Malayalam heroine Kavya Madhavan is cock-a-hoop these days. Why
not? The comely actress has every reason to rejoice.
After all, she has just won the Kerala Government's best actress award for
a soulful portrayal as a widowed girl in Kamal's ‘Perumazhakkalam’. Incidentally
she shares the award with Geetu Mohandas.
Careerwise too, the 'bindaas' girl from Neeleshwaram in Kerala, is doing
extremely well. Even as many of her female colleagues are trying their luck in
Kollywood and Tollywood, Kavya has stuck to Malayalam films.
Right now, she is busy with Santosh Shivan's maiden Malayalam directorial
venture ‘Anandha Bhadram’. Ms Madhavan is said to have a powerful role in the
film, which has young Prithviraj as the hero.
Besides, Kavya is doing two films with upcoming actor Sunil, who impressed
in Sathyan Anthikkad's ‘Achchuvinde Amma’. One film is titled ‘Annorikkal’. The
other movie, Sheelavathi, being directed by Sarath, again, has Sunil in the male
lead role.
She also figures in the cinematic version of poet ONV Kurup's ‘Bhoomikkoru
Charamageetham’. A noted feature of the film is that the poet himself is acting
in it.
So, all in all, the going is good for the doe-eyed beauty from North
Malabar, who has endeared herself to one and all with her winning ways.
Congratulations, Kavya!
